At some point in his retirement, Meb Keflezighi wants to learn how to surf.

Wednesday’s conditions were small but clean at Pleasure Point, perfect for a beginner. Yet the waves weren’t what brought arguably the best marathon runner in United States history to Capitola. He didn’t even dip a toe in the water.
